Fran and recent work

Fran Romano

Since completing a Diploma of Visual Art (Ceramics) at ANU School of Art in 2013, I’ve been making, selling and exhibiting my work as FRATTEMPO Ceramics.   This Italian word translates as “meanwhile” (it also incorporates my initials as seen on all my pieces)!

FRATTEMPO references my cultural heritage and captures the essence of my making practise where I explore ideas of memory, nostalgia and the passage of time.   I hope my work encourages a moment of reflection, the excuse to pause and make a small ritual out of your task, whether it is making a cuppa, lighting a candle or arranging flowers or food on the table.

Fran Romano I Ceramic Artist

Fran has developed functional designs for Cafes and restaurants including Rye Cafe in Braddon, ACT, and Jackalope Hotels in Victoria.
